COUNTRY CLUB VILLAGE, Mo. – Naomi Ernestine (Arn) Lindstrom, of Country Club Village, Missouri, and formally of the French Bottoms, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2024, at her home surrounded by her family from a strong and courageous battle with cancer. Naomi was born on Aug. 25, 1939, to Nora and Ernest Arn, of St. Joseph.
Naomi graduated from Lafayette High School, in St. Joseph, class of 1957, where is was a member of the Glee Club, FHA, Junior/Senior Committee and the Business Women of America Association.
On May 13, 1972, she married the love of her life, Charles (C.B.) Lindstrom, and had a loving married life that lasted 47 years. C.B. preceded her in death in 2019, but in those 47 years they raised two sons, Chet (Katrina “Kit”) Lindstrom, of St. Joseph, and Kirt (Cindy) Lindstrom, of Raleigh, North Carolina.
They traveled throughout the country, Naomi managing to make it to all 50 states in her lifetime. When asked which was her favorite places to go, she would always respond with, my trip to Catalina Island with my parents, to Hawaii with my oldest son, and to North Carolina to visit my youngest son. Family meant the world to her.
Naomi worked for the Regal Theater, National Finance, and Car City Chrysler which her business sense came in handy when having to keep the up with all of her husband’s adventures in dealing with John Deere tractor parts and hosting the John Deere tractor Club Meetings. She was also a member of Wyatt Park Christian Church.
Proceeding her in death were her parents; brothers- in-law, George DuCoing and Gary Wright.
Naomi is survived by a sister-in-law, Donna Wright; and her sister, Alyce DuCoing, of St. Joseph, which she shared the love of Nascar racing. You would see both sisters planted in front of the TV rooting for their favorite drivers and teams on any given race day and/or putting together puzzles with her sister or with her dear friend, Charlene Stagg.
Grandma Naomi was a title she loved and she is survived by her grandchildren, Jake (Bobbie Jo) Mazurkewycz, Cade (Ashlyn) Pointer, Caitlyn (Justin) Hall, Andrew Lindstrom and his fiance, RaeLynn Hanna, Nora, Brea and Lyla Lindstrom; Nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Rupp Funeral Home, with a Funeral Service following at 11 a.m. Entombment at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions can be made to Freudenthal Hospice Services.
