Wilma Lee King, 98, of St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2025, at a local health care facility. She was born March 26, 1927, in St. Joseph, daughter of Hazel and Rufus Wood.

Wilma graduated from Benton High School, class of 1945, where she was a member of the Gamma Aletha Club. On Nov. 14, 1945, she married Jack King, who preceded her in death on June 22, 1995.

Wilma was a life member of the King Hill Methodist Church and currently Wesley United Methodist Church.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Rufus Wood and Hazel Wood-Wallace; husband, Jack King; sisters, Verna Rose Cleary, Florence Kobett, Pauline Rockwell and Mildred Hurst.

She is survived by her children, Timothy (Kelly) King, of Mountain View, Arkansas, and Gayle (Stewart) Pearl, of Clarksdale, Missouri; grandchildren, Joshua (Jen) King, Nikie (TJ) Carroll, and Rodney (Jen) Pearl; great-grandchildren, Zeven and Layla King, Gage Eades, Summer and Jaycee Carroll, Draven Johnson, McKenzie, Trenton and Heavenly Carroll; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2025, at Rupp Funeral Home with Pastor Jonathon Garlock officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Rupp Funeral Home. Interment following services in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Mosaic Hospice.
