ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- April 18 marks Customer Appreciation Day, giving businesses an opportunity to celebrate their customers.

Alchemy Tea Co., located at 617 Felix St., is one local business giving back to their customers for the national day. From 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., customers will receive a free hotdog and bag of chips.

Owner of Alchemy Tea, Lacey Martin, shared why it is important to celebrate and give back to their customers.

"As a small business, they are what makes us go around," Martin said. "So if we don't have customers, we don't have livelihood, we're not here. And for them to come Downtown, that breathes life back into Downtown. So we're very happy to see everybody out and about Downtown."

Meredith Sawyer, a regular customer at Alchemy Tea, explained why she thinks it is important to recognize customers.

"They're helping you with your business and if people don't come to your business, then it will more than likely fail," Sawyer said.
