Woman seriously injured in Platte County crash

PLATTE COUNTY, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- A woman is in the hospital with serious injuries after a one-car crash in Platte County Thursday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred around 9:04 p.m. on Interstate 29 North, near Kansas City International Airport.

A 63-year-old Platte City woman drove into the far right lane of a construction zone where crews had removed a portion of road, despite signage. She hit concrete piled in front of a hole before traveling into and out of it.

She was wearing a seat belt and taken to Liberty Hospital for serious injuries, according to the crash report.
