Tracking toasty temperatures and mostly dry skies: rain chances return tomorrow evening

This morning, moderate rainfall produced about a tenth of an inch of precipitation in St. Joseph. As we move through the rest of the day, it will be warm and windy. Southerly winds will move into the area, sustaining between 15 and 25 mph, keeping temperatures toasty this afternoon. Highs will reach the mid-80s.

Tonight, we’re expecting mostly dry conditions, but there is a chance of isolated thunderstorms in far northern and northwestern Missouri, as well as parts of southeastern Nebraska and southern Iowa. A cold front will be pushing through the Omaha and Des Moines areas, along the I-29 and I-35 corridors. These storms could produce large hail, damaging winds, and an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

Tomorrow morning will remain dry, with showers and thunderstorms possible in the evening. Temperatures will be cooler, with highs in the upper 60s. Stronger storms are possible southeast of the Kansas City metro area.
