Tracking frosty nights and sunny days

A cool and sunny Sunday afternoon will give way to a frosty night for some as temperatures fall to near freezing across much of Northwest Missouri and Northeast Kansas. Freeze warnings are in effect from 12 AM to 9 AM Monday, cold sensitive vegetation should be protected with scattered to widespread frost possible. Clear skies will remain tonight, with light winds and overnight lows in the lows 30s. Sunshine will continue on Monday with afternoon highs warming well into the 50s. Another period of subfreezing temperatures is forecast Monday night and into Tuesday morning. Freeze watches have been posted from 12 AM to 9 AM Tuesday. Warmer air is forecast return starting Tuesday with continuing sunshine southerly breezes, and highs in the low 60s.
