Bridal Show relieves wedding season anxiety

Doniphan and surrounding county brides' lives got a little bit easier Sunday afternoon, thanks to the Bridal Show hosted by Andrea's Sweet Occasions.
Andrea Nett, local baker and organizer of the show, made sure it was indeed a "sweet occasion" for anyone in the wedding market, whether a vendor, bride or maid of honor.
"Usually April is the best time to schedule these types of things because people can come out and do and see and be a part of the event," Nett said.
The Bridal Show featured several vendors, including Hayley J. Photography, Murphy's Smokin Meats, Garden Gate Flowers, Poured to Perfection, Michael's Crafty Momma and many more. Shabani Brand, a clothing store located in Downtown St. Joseph, held a fashion show at the event to showcase dresses.
"I think it's important for people to know we have these things right here in our own town," Nett said. "We don't need to go to Kansas City to find different places ... it's important to support our local people so they don't go away."
The Bridal Show included a live D.J. courtesy of Dusty Roads Entertainment and raffles at 2:30 and 3 p.m. with the grand prize of a $500 gift certificate that can be used with any vendor at the event.
