Benton High School set to perform “Puffs — The Play”

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- Benton High School's theatre department will present "Puffs -- The Play" beginning next week.
The show will be performed at Benton's auditorium at 5655 S. Fourth Street, at 7 p.m. each night from April 10 through 12. Tickets are $8 for adults and $3 for students and can be purchased in person or at bentontheatre.com.
A 2015 original comedy, Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic, is a play by New York–based playwright Matt Cox. The play first premiered at The Peoples Improv Theater in 2015 before moving to the off-Broadway theater New World Stages in 2016.
The show has been praised for its comedy and staging. It was nominated for the Off-Broadway Alliance Award for "Best Unique Theatrical Experience" in 2017.
“If you’re a fan of that famous boy wizard, or even if you’re not, this play is for you. You won’t go a full minute without a laugh,” says Colton Connors, theater teacher at Benton High School and the play director. "Twenty-three students make up the cast of characters, including eight seniors, who will be performing in their last high school production. This show has over 240 sound cues and over 300 light cues. It is a clever, high energy, hysterically good time”
