ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (News-Press NOW) -- Whether you're looking for a performance, a race or a quiet afternoon of reading, St. Joseph has it all to keep its residents busy. News Press NOW's Kendra Simpson has this weekend's top entertainment in See St. Joseph.

Put on those running shoes because it's time for the 6th annual Tulip Trot. The 5k benefit race helps support the Freudenthal Center for Parkinson’s disease, with all proceeds going to various exercise programs, since exercise is the best way to fight the disease. Participants can run the 5k or join the 1k walk and run. Racers can register online until the day of the Trot online at runsignup.com. The Tulip Trot begins at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at the Remington Nature Center, 1502 McArthur Drive.

After moving their own bodies, St. Joseph residents can watch others do the same with the 19th annual A Chance to Dance benefit performance. The local benefit began in 2007 as a way to raise awareness about child abuse and brought a little over $2,500 in donations. Ever since, it’s raised more than $120,000 for the Voices of Courage Child Advocacy Center. Dance studios from across Northwest Missouri and the Kansas City metro area will come together to perform ballet, tap, contemporary musical theatre, hip-hop, lyrical and more styles of dance. All proceeds will benefit Voices of Courage and help local youth. There also will be a silent auction, bake sale and raffles to boost the funds over the top. The performance begins at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 5, at the Missouri Theater, 717 Edmond St. Tickets can be purchased online at jomotickets.com.

For those who have too many books taking up space or are looking for new content to read, Hazel's Downtown, 310 N. Third St., is hosting another Book Swap, creating the perfect opportunity to refresh any to-be-read list. So many people showed up to the February book swap, Hazel’s staff knew they had to hold another one. Whether you’re looking for a picture book to read with the littles or a novel that’ll keep you reading late into the night, they’re going to have it all. Simply show up with one or more books of any genre that you’re willing to part with, share your love for the book and discover your next obsession. Read in the shop, meet with your book club and enjoy 10% off any in-shop purchases. The Book Swap goes from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, at Hazel’s Downtown.
