Died happily

I am so happy that President Jimmy Carter was able to die with a smile on his face, knowing that finally he will not go down in history as the worst American president. I’m sure he died happy.

I can’t pay that

I wanted to comment on the Evergy new rate plans. We’ve got a new increase just going into effect. The Public Service Commission has approved it, supposedly. The last time we did this on base plans, which was in the fall, my rates went 37 1/2% higher. There’s no way in the world I can afford another increase. I think the Energy Board has their fingers around this Public Service Commission. They know all they have to do is ask for an increase is out of line. And the Public Service Commission will then turn around and give them about half of it. This is ridiculous. Public Service Commission ought to be running Evergy and therefore they wouldn’t have all these high-priced executives on the board and the CEO. Sorry I can’t pay it.

They weren’t ready

I just heard the Democratic Mayor of New Orleans say that the city of New Orleans can handle big scale events and everyone can feel safe. It’s too bad they weren’t ready Wednesday.
