Another round of snow expected as extreme cold persists

Another round of snow is expected Tuesday afternoon, with accumulations ranging from 1 to 3 inches on top of the snowfall from Monday.

A Winter Weather advisory is in effect now and will last until 3 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19.

Significant snowfall of 6 inches or more is still forecast south of the Interstate 70 corridor. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until midnight for the entire Kansas City metro area.

Frigid temperatures and brutal wind chills remain in the extended forecast. Subzero wind chills could drop as low as 25 to 30 degrees below zero over the next couple of days.

A cold weather advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19. If you go outdoors, dress in multiple layers and cover exposed skin as much as possible.
