Snow bringing slippery travel conditions Monday

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect for the following counties in Northwest Missouri through 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17: Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Clinton, DeKalb, Gentry, Holt, Nodaway, and Worth. Doniphan and Atchison county Kansas are also included in the advisory.

Snow is expected to begin early Monday morning, bringing 1 to 3 inches of accumulation along and north and along Highway 36. A dusting to 1 inch is possible south of Highway 36 through the Kansas City metro area. This will likely result in hazardous travel conditions, especially for the morning commute. 

A second period of snowfall is forecast Monday night into Tuesday, potentially bringing an additional 2 to 4 inches of accumulation along and north of the Highway 36 corridor. More significant snowfall of 6 inches or more is forecast along and south of the I-70 corridor, where a Winter Storm Warning has been issued.
