Mary “Eileen” Oyler, 95, St. Joseph, passed away at home on Monday, Jan. 22, 2024.

She was born on Jan. 7, 1929, to Horace and Elizabeth (Carson) Groom, in Stewartsville, Missouri.

She married Vern Oyler on May 9,1959. He preceded her in death.

Eileen spent most of her life on the farm where she enjoyed quilting, reading, gardening and caring for her various pets.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; five siblings; and one grandchild.

Survivors include her three children, Toni Whitaker, Alton Oyler and Calvin Oyler; brother, Lowell Groom; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

There will be a memorial service in the upcoming months.
