Maryville City Manager Greg McDanel is leaving his position in March.

Maryville, Missouri, is looking for a new city manager.

City Manager Greg McDanel has submitted his resignation after 13 years of service, and March 7 will be his last day. City officials cited millions in grant funding secured, expanded public-private partnerships and enhanced quality-of-life initiatives as highlights of McDanel's tenure.

“It has been the honor of my career to serve the City of Maryville,” McDanel said. “I am incredibly grateful for the trust and support of the City Council, staff, and residents over the years. Maryville is a special place, and I look forward to seeing the city continue to thrive in the years ahead.”

Maryville's Assistant City Manager Ryan Heiland will serve as interim city manager. He has been a member of the city's leadership team since 2012, overseeing major community development initiatives, infrastructure projects and city operations.

The Maryville City Council will be discussing the recruitment process for a permanent city manager in months ahead.
