Trinity United Church closes after final service due to dwindling parishioners

By NewsPress Now

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Trinity United Church of Christ in Bethlehem held their final service on Sunday morning.

Due to dwindling parishioners, Trinity sold its church in September.

Its legacy of charity is continuing past its end though, as the church donated half the proceeds of the sale to various non-profits.

Reverend Dennis Shappell says the donations only deepen the church’s mission.

“We just hope people will continue to support the people in their community and to love their neighbors and love one another in other ways, helping people. This is about faith in action,” he said.

STAR Bethlehem received $25,000 from Trinity UCC. They say its the largest financial gift they’ve every received.
