Students have been selected for this year’s Cotillion for Achievement.

The female finalists are Sophia Jura, Central High School; Emma Loehnig, Benton High School; Sophia Mattson, Lafayette High School; Raychel McCamy, Central; Elizabeth Newell, East Buchanan High School; Cathy Nguyen, Lafayette; Andrea Simmons, Benton; and Gracie Wilmes, North Andrew High School.

The male finalists are Zamuel Brushwood, East Buchanan; Cy Carlson, St. Joseph Christian School; Ivan Chatfield, Central; Jackson Cline, St. Joseph Christian; Michael Higdon, Central; DeMare’ Howard, Lafayette; Gage Phroper, Benton; and Dalton Suman, Lafayette.

The Cotillion for Achievement has been offering scholarship applications, enrichment opportunities and leadership training for almost 39 years. Each year, 16 finalists are selected based on scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities, community involvement and a written essay.

The finalists will receive a $1,000 scholarship and participate in three “Adventures in Achievement” sessions during January. The top male and female finalists will each receive a $2,000 scholarship.
