Carroll W. Harris, 85, St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024.

He was born April 25, 1939. in Agency, Missouri, to Miles and Irene (Wright) Harris.

Carroll served his country as a jet engine mechanic and radio repairman in the Missouri Air National Guard from 1947 to 1964.

Carroll married Eileen Leona Phelan on July 28, 1983. She preceded him in death on July 13, 2022.

He was owner/operator of Carroll Harris Cooling and Heating for 36 years alongside his son, Miles, who took over the business when Carroll had to retire due to his health.

Carroll loved the Lord and served Him faithfully in his membership at Green Valley Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, and later at Eastside Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday School teacher. Carroll loved to help others, especially small churches that needed help.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Eileen; his parents; son, Daniel Harris; and sister, Nancy Thompson.

Survivors include his children, Kathy Hopper and Miles Harris; stepchildren, Sherry Crigger (Donald) and David Hentges (Stephanie); grandchildren, Jason Hopper, Kimberly Chilton, and Caleb Hopper; step-grandchildren, Mindy Gregory (John), Joshua Crigger, Justin Hentges (Kristen), and Shelby Post (Jim); six great-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1 p.m. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.

Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service.
