Winter break activities for children in St. Joseph

By Ashley Luthans
Winter break has arrived, and there are many activities in St. Joseph that can help children pass the time and beat boredom.
The Bode Ice Arena is one place that provides fun for the whole family.
People of all ages are welcome to ice skate, regardless of skill level. On open skate session days, admission is $9 with or without skates.
Programs coordinator at the ice arena, Christine Feuerbacher, said that children can expect to have a good time when going ice skating.
“They get to come and skate with their friends,” Feuerbacher said. “It’s just fun to be here and have magical memories.”
The libraries in St. Joseph also have events happening throughout the next month.
Misty Snider, the Children’s Department Manager at the East Hills Library, shared that there are multiple reasons to visit a St. Joseph Public Library this winter.
“We have some different programs going on at all of our branches,” Snider said. “There’s crafty things to do, there’s the ‘noon year’s eve’ party, just lots of different things. We also have plenty of books, movies, audiobooks, lots of e-resources that families could check out. We’ve got play spaces in a few of our libraries, so if they just want somewhere to come and hang out and spend some time, they can do that as well.”
St. Joseph is full of family-friendly activities this holiday season, providing fun for the whole community.
