SAVANNAH, Mo. – Ronald “Ron” Leo Shreve, 82, Savannah, Missouri, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2024.
He was born Feb. 8, 1942 to Leo E. and Helen P. (Strasser) Shreve in Savannah.
Ron attended White Oak country school before graduating from Savannah High School in 1960. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1965.
Ron was a devoted son, big brother, and uncle, always putting others needs above his own. He generously gave his time, energy and gifts to his family.
He worked at Commerce Bank and other local banks and served on Senior Partners program through Commerce. Ron would often work on the family farm hauling grain or walking beans after a day at the bank. He was involved in the United Way, Rotary Club, and Girl Scouts of St. Joseph, and the Main Street beautification program and Alumni Association of Savannah.
Ron enjoyed attending auctions, flea markets, and garage sales in search of antiques and other deals. He enjoyed traveling, and spending time in Las Vegas, Texas and at sea on several cruises.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Helen Shreve.
Survivors include his sister, Donna Kelley (Tim); nephew, Tyler Kelley (Sarah); great-niece, Paige; niece, Ashley Holden (Brian); great-nieces, Amelia, Adelle and Elaina and great-nephew, Emmitt.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 10 a.m. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
Interment Savannah Cemetery.
The family will gather with friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
