An Omaha, Nebraska, woman is in the hospital with serious injuries after a three-vehicle accident involving two semis Monday night.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred at about 6:33 p.m. on Interstate 29, three and a half miles south of Rock Port.

A 32-year-old Council Bluffs, Iowa, trucker reportedly struck the back of a sedan in the passing lane driven by a 79-year-old Lawrence, Kansas, man.

That collision sent the Kansas man into the path of another semi, driven by a 52-year-old Omaha, Nebraska, woman, and led to another crash.

The Kansas man’s car stopped on the side of the road, but the Nebraska woman’s truck flipped onto the driver’s side and skidded.
