Benedictine College will hold a “Stars & Stripes” celebration to honor all U.S. military personnel during a home football game against Central Methodist College on Saturday.

Kickoff is set at 1 p.m. on Nov. 9 at Wilcox Stadium in Atchison, Kansas, with the celebration happening during halftime.

Anyone with a U.S. Military ID will receive free admission to the game.

The college will present the St. Martin of Tours Award to retired Lieutenant General Daniel Karbler. The award is named after the patron saint of soldiers.

Karbler led the U.S. Army’s Space and Missile Defense Command and graduated from Benedictine’s executive MBA program. Karbler served the country in a variety of positions for nearly 37 years. His wife, Leah, served in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a major after 26 years of both active and reserve service.
