O’Donnell, Allison 1941-2024 Mendon, Ill.

MENDON, Ill. – Allison “Allie” O’Donnell, 83, of Mendon, Illinois, formerly of Quincy, Illinois, passed away at 11:45 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, 2024, at the Mt. Sterling Health and Rehab Center in Mt. Sterling, Illinois. She was born on May 12, 1941, in St. Joseph, daughter of Alfred and Katherine (Schornborn) Wolverton. Allie married Charles O’Donnell on Dec. 21, 1974, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joseph. He survives.
Allie graduated from Immaculate Conception School and Benton High School, both located in St. Joesph. She retired from Sears, formerly located at the Quincy Mall, after 17 years of service. Later, she owned and operated Allie’s Vintage Collectables and Antiques located in Quincy and Mendon. She was an artist and best known for her talents at portraiture.
In addition to her husband, Chuck, she is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Phil) Alexander, of Quincy; sons, Robert O’Donnell Sr., of Riverview, Florida, and Scott Allen O’Donnell, of Mendon; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Allie was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Robin Inez Hoeing; brother, Lawrence (Myrna) Wolverton; and a sister-in-law, Martha (Gene) Wilson.
Per Allie’s’ wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. Edward’s Catholic Church or the Samaritan’s’ Purse.
