By Jon Styf | The Center Square

(The Center Square) – Unemployment rates dropped in 10 of Wisconsin’s 12 metropolitan areas for October from September while all 12 areas saw year over year unemployment declines.

Twenty-three of the state’s largest 35 cities also saw unemployment decreases month over month and 33 saw year over year declines in U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates.

The state’s county data showed similar trends with 54 of the 72 counties seeing a decrease or having employment rates stay the same over the month and 70 counties seeing a decrease year over year in unemployment rate.

The six counties that saw or matched all-time low unemployment rates were Door (1.9%), Forest (2.9%), Langlade (2.6%), Oconto (2.3%), Pepin (2.0%) and Rock (2.5%) counties.
