Saturday afternoon, the community was invited to solve a murder mystery while visiting different parts of downtown St. Joseph.

A Midsummer Night’s Murder took attendees around downtown as people were asked about their thoughts on downtown improvements.

Actors waited at different downtown locations to give clues to participants in order to solve the mystery.

The fundraiser was in support of Main Street St. Joseph, an organization looking to improve St. Joseph.

Jim Kieffer, a member of the board of directors of Main Street St. Joseph, explained the purpose of their organization.

“Main Street St. Joseph has a plan for the revitalization of downtown and the surrounding historic districts,” Kieffer said.

This fundraiser is not new to St. Joseph, but it has been revamped this year.

“But it was always a lot of fun for folks and it was a good fundraiser, so we decided to revitalize it and offer it again this year,” Kieffer said.

The murder will be acted out at 8 p.m. in Coleman Hawkins Park.
