Savannah v. Cameron (News-Press Now Game of the Week) It’s been tough sledding for Cameron this season. The Dragons still seek their first win of the season against 3-2 Savannah. This MEC matchup will favor the Savages, who have won their last two games by an average of over 50 points per game.

DeKalb v. Mound City

The Tigers got their first win over winless Stewartsville/Osborn last week, winning by 38 points and dominating the game from the jump. Both DeKalb and Mound City enter the last half of the 8-man regular season with just one win, but plenty to gain with districts coming up fast.

Central @ Oak Park

Another fast start to the regular season has cooled off for the Indians heading into the last four games of the regular season. Central started 3-0, but has dropped its last two games to North Kansas City and Liberty, and now they face an Oak Park team known for its stifling defense. The Northman give up less than 16 points per game to their opponents.

Benton @ Maryville

The Cardinals still have yet to find a win in the last four weeks, averaging just five points per game in that span. Now, they face one of the golf standards of Missouri high school football in Maryville, who comes off a 44-6 victory over Cameron a week ago.

Lafayette v. Chillicothe

Both teams enter this contest at 2-3. Lafayette and Chillicothe each have two shutout losses on the season, but the Fighting Irish will get the homefield advantage against the Hornets on Friday in order to get back to .500. Lafayette has already cleared its win total in 2024 compared to the win total of the last two seasons.

Mid-Buchanan @ Lathrop

The Dragons remain the only undefeated team in the area. At 4-0, Mid-Buch has given little hope to opponents who have tried to knock them off. The Dragons have only allowed double digits in one game this season, and give up just eight points per game this season. The Mules will try to be the team to spoil the chances of an undefeated season for Mid-Buchanan.

St. Joseph Christian @ Pattonsburg

This may be the best chance for St. Joseph Christian to get back on the winning track. The Lions have lost their last three games after starting the year 2-0. Pattonsburg enters at 1-4, however, the Panthers have shown an ability to put points on the scoreboard despite dropping games in the process.

Bishop LeBlond @ Kansas City East Christian

The Golden Eagles come off their first loss of the season last week against 8-man’s top team in Archie. LeBlond will head to Leawood, Kansas, to face Kansas City East Christian, who they put up 82 against in a win last season when coming off of a loss to Archie in 2023.

East Buchanan v. Penney

Penney enters Friday having won its last two games, whereas East Buchanan has won its last three games. This KCI Conference matchup has belonged to East Buch in recent years, as the Bulldogs have won the last six contests between them and the Hornets dating back to 2020.

Riverside v. Horton

The Cyclones weren’t going to let a 35-7 blowout to Jackson Heights in Week 1 hinder them from having a successful season. Riverside has won its last three contests since, and gets a favorable matchup against Horton, who comes in at 1-3.
