Rainey, Jessie R. 1927-2024 King City, Mo.

KING CITY, Mo. – Jessie Rose (Slaybaugh) Rainey, 97, of King City, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, at her assisted living home in King City.

Jessie was born on Sept. 16, 1927, in McFall, Missouri, to Forest and Pearl (Thompson) Slaybaugh. She attended Grand View School and graduated from Maysville High School. On June 28, 1947, she was united in marriage to Garel Rainey. They made their life together on the farm in the Berlin community. She was a strong Christian woman and a long time member of the First Baptist Church in King City.

Jessie was preceded in death by her parents; her infant daughter; brothers, Dudley, Carl, Bill, and Jerry; and sister, June.

She is survived by her sons, Steve Rainey and his wife Debbie, of King City, and Rick Rainey and his wife Vickie, of King City; grandchildren, Natalie Rainey, Valerie Watson, Scott Rainey, and Ryan Rainey; six great-grandchildren; and sister, Sue Burr, of Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, at Roberson Funeral Home, King City. Burial will follow in the Berlin Cemetery, in Berlin, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Berlin Cemetery in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. box 153, King City, MO 64463.
