Family-orientated Halloween event brings shopping, games and more

This spooky season, it’s time to bring your family to “Ghouls Night Out” hosted by NLJ events and the Backwoods Venue on Thursday, Oct. 24, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. located at 11347 southeast state Route DD.
With 22 vendors in attendance, wear your costumes to shop local while enjoying food and music. In addition, it’s a safe place to trick or treat.
Nichole Faucett with NLJ and Aimee Andrews with the Backwoods Venue spoke about the event and why it brings much enjoyment.
“I think this one is different because we have the kids in costume, trick-or-treating. We’re very family-oriented for all of our events, but this one is just a little bit different with the trick-or-treating and Halloween aspect,” Faucett said.
“They’re going to be able to shop, eat and then they’re going to have an opportunity for the kids to paint pumpkins and be sure and dress the kids up and trick-or-treating outfits,” Andrews said.
The event is free, but stocking stuffer toy donations for the AFL-CIO are appreciated. Those can be dropped off at the event or the Rally House. There will be “carnival” type games for the kids to play for only $1 each. Cash and Venmo are accepted.
