This weekend, St. Joseph has an abundance of spooky events and entertainment to get its residents in the Halloween spirit. This week’s edition of See St. Joseph has spooky fun for the whole family.

River Bluff Brewing is all about supporting local nonprofits, but this Friday, they’re doing so with a haunted twist.

The 4th annual “Books, Beers and Boos” will raise funds for the St. Joseph Public Library foundation. This year’s event will feature author Lory Lacy who will discuss her book “The Victorian: The past lives of Jack the Ripper”. Attendees get a River Bluff brewing beer, snack and a limited edition “Books, Beers and Boos” pint glass. The fundraiser goes from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at River Bluff Brewing. Tickets can be purchased in advanced by visiting the St. Joseph Public Library’s Facebook page.

Residents looking for Halloween fun this weekend in St. Joseph will be able to participate in dual Trunk-or-Treat events this Saturday, Oct. 26, from noon to 2 p.m., one at the north lot at 4713 St. Joseph Avenue and another at the south lot at 1800 Alabama St. Both events will be chock-full of activities.

”We are going to have free face painting, music, games and just a lot of fun things to do,” event organizer James Kindred said.

The St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce is giving its residents the opportunity to run off all the candies and sweets associated with Halloween with the Donut Dash 5k.

The Donut Dash is a family friendly run 5k that visits several historic streets through Downtown, including Mount Mora Cemetery, the Patee House Museum and the Robidoux Row Museum. Runners will get to enjoy the famous Gold-N-Glaze donuts at the start and finish lines. Registration for the 5k is $45, with all proceeds going to benefit the very museums and cemeteries the race will be running through. To register, visit the event’s Facebook page.

Creepy Krug has creeped its way back into the hearts of St. Joseph residents and will rise from the dead yet again.

Three nights of a haunted forest, trunk or treats, games, live performances and more. Get dressed in the scariest or cutest costumes and enjoy Halloween with the entire community. Creepy Krug goes from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, and then 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The haunted forest will open all three evenings starting at 8 p.m., while the Trunk or Treat start 3 p.m. Sunday.
