Kenneth W. Andrus, 70, St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, Sept. 29, 2024.

He was born Nov. 28, 1953, to Kenneth A. and Dallas J. (Noland) Andrus in Beckley, West Virginia.

He graduated from Faucett, Missouri, High School in 1973 and later attended Missouri Western State University, where he studied dentistry.

Kenneth joined the United States Navy in December of 1972 and served until 1978 during the Vietnam War Era.

In 1998, he began working for Home Depot, where he remained until his retirement in 2014.

Kenneth had a talent for playing piano and guitar, and he enjoyed singing karaoke. He also liked working in his garden, doing yardwork, mowing the lawn, watching cooking shows and Westerns, and playing cards.

Kenneth had a good heart and great sense of humor, often teasing his friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Dallas Andrus, and infant sister, Brenda S. Andrus.

Survivors include his sisters, Barbara Grider (Michael), Rhonda Andrus and Regina Reece (Rick); nieces and nephews, David D. Dennis (Krissy), Brenda S. Dennis (Tim), Derek W. Hanway (Kelly), George E. Huyett III, Valerie J. Heckman, Rickey J. Reece and Rachel J. Herrod (Chris); many great-nieces and nephews, and three great-great-nieces.

Farewell Services and Public Livestream 10 a.m. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
