Busy weekend in the sky with the Sound of Speed Airshow

The skies above St. Joseph will be busy this weekend as the Sound of Speed Airshow comes to Rosecrans Memorial Airport.

Performances, featuring the Thunderbirds among several acts, are free and open to the public. Events for the weekend include:

Friday, Sept. 13

6:30 to 8:30 p.m.: Kickoff party and concert with airshow performers, Coleman Hawkins Park/Felix Street Square in Downtown St Joseph

Saturday, Sept. 14

8 a.m.: Parking lots open at Rosecrans Memorial Airport

10 a.m.: Gates open at the airfield

11:45 a.m.: Airshow starts

3 p.m.: Thunderbirds take-off (estimated)

5 p.m.: Gates close

6 p.m.: Block party with performers hosted by Parkway Distillery with participating businesses River Bluff Brewery, The Axe Factor and Pizza Tascio, 13th and Frederick streets

Sunday, Sept. 15

8 a.m.: Parking lots open at Rosecrans Memorial Airport

10 a.m.: Gates open at the airfield

11:45 a.m.: Airshow starts

3 p.m. Thunderbirds take-off (estimated)

5 p.m.: Gates close

Upgraded ticket options are available for parking or seating upgrades.
