NIXA, Mo. – Cheryl Louise Glasgow, age 78, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away Aug. 31, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri. She was born on May 16, 1946, in St. Joseph. She graduated from Lafayette High School in 1964. Upon graduation, she started data entry for the Navy in Washington, DC, during the war. After her time in the Navy, she went to Savannah College where she was pursuing accounting. She was united in marriage to Jerry Glasgow Sr. on April 14, 1988.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Velma Talley; sister, Judy Talley; and stepdaughter, Megan Glasgow.
She is survived by children, Michael Jernigan (wife Jessica) and Michelle Jernigan; stepson, Glen Glasgow (wife Kim); 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren; sister, Karen Chapman (husband Raymond); nieces and nephews, Deborah Chapman, Denice Chapman, and Chris Watkins; and her best friend of 73 years, Rachel Howland.
A committal service with full military honors will be held Friday, Sept. 6, 2024, 11 a.m., at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. The family ask that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Wounded Warriors Project, Harbor House, and The Salvation Army.
