MONETT, Mo. – Paul Herbert Holmes, of Monett, Missouri, passed away at the age of 80 on Sept. 7, 2024, at his home.

He was born Nov. 12, 1943, in St. Joseph, to Gene and Lorna (Parr) Holmes. On July 10, 1998, in Gower, Missouri, he married the love of his life, Carole Mayer, who preceded him in death on June 12, 2024. Also preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Sarah Holmes.

He leaves behind a legacy of love to his children, Lisa Holmes, Jeff Holmes, Angela Holmes, his stepson, Travis Jarnagin; plus nine grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren.

Paul was known for his love of riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, listening to country music, cherishing his Yorkie dogs, and traveling with his wife, Carole. Raised in Gower, Paul was a graduate of Gower High School. He lived in the Kansas City area and raised his family, then moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where he worked as a truck driver for United Transport, and in 2011 they moved to Table Rock Lake, in Golden, Missouri.

Paul’s life will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his passion for life, and the quiet strength he exhibited every day.

A memorial service celebrating both Paul and Carole Holmes will be held at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville, Missouri, on Friday, Sept. 13, 2024, at 10 a.m.
