Norma Jean Scroggins, 90, St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024.

She was born July 7, 1934, in St. Joseph. Her parents were Ward Merriott and Wilma (Brown) Ryther and stepfather, Emery Ryther.

Norma married Ivan L. Scroggins on Aug. 28, 1957.

She was an excellent cook. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ivan; siblings, Joyce Russell, Louis Benkula, and Dr. Merlin Brown.

Survivors include her children, William Scroggins (Kathy), Jeanine Rock, and Mark Scroggins; grandchildren, Ryan, Bradley, Amy, Andrea, and Alexandria; great-grandchildren, Carter, Ayden, Easton, and Blakely; and brother, Jim Merriott.

Farewell Services and Public Livestream 2 p.m. Sunday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Inurnment Mount Auburn Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association.
