Leaders of the St. Joseph School District are seeking input from the public in the search for a new superintendent.

In-person community input sessions are planned for next week to hear what qualities people would like to see in a new superintendent. Parents, district staff, students and other members of the community are invited to share their thoughts on Wednesday, Oct. 2, at these times and locations:

4 to 5 p.m. at Spring Garden Middle School, 5802 S. 22nd St.

5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Bode Middle School, 720 Noyes Blvd.

7 to 8 p.m. at Robidoux Middle School, 4212 St. Joseph Ave.

Discussions at the meetings will be led by consultants, and free childcare will be available for children pre-K through sixth grade. Spanish and Chuukese translators also will be at each location.

The in-person meetings follow an online survey members of the community were invited to participate in about the superintendent selection.

Current Superintendent Gabe Edgar will retire at the end of this school year.
