Greg Gilpin, 68, St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024.

He was born in St. Joseph to Joseph and Jacqueline (Swafford) Gilpin. Greg married the love of his life, Michelle Annigian, in 1987.

He was a sergeant with the St. Joseph Police Department for 33 years, which made him a familiar friendly face to the community. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and Knights of Columbus.

Greg enjoyed photography, country music, and he had a love for history. His greatest joy was being a grandfather and spending time with his precious grandchildren. He was a fantastic husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Jackie Gilpin; his brother, Steve Gilpin; infant brother, Stewart Gilpin; and brother-in-law, Jim Lima.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Michelle Gilpin; sons, Brandon Gilpin (Candice) and Ryan Gilpin (Stephanie); brother, Mark Gilpin (Joyce); sisters, Kim Lima and Chris Gilpin; grandchildren, Michael, Reagan, Kaleigh and Madilynn Gilpin; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will gather with friends 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
