CAMERON, Mo. – Ruth Celia Rogers, 94, passed away Aug. 1, 2024. She was born Sept. 24, 1929, in Hamilton, Missouri, to Samuel and Bertha (Dewalt) Jones.
Ruth spent her entire life in Caldwell County. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1947. In 1950 she married John Rogers and they were married for 69 years. They had two children, Sandra “Sandi” and Lynn.
Ruth was a homemaker where she excelled in all aspects of her role. Ruth loved to cook and bake, both of which seemed effortless for her. Ruth loved to garden, especially vegetable gardening. She took great pride in canning and freezing everything she had grown. Along with being a homemaker she was active in helping John farming.
Ruth enjoyed collecting antiques and dishes. She was extremely knowledgeable about R.S. Prussia glass and was very proud to show you her collection.
Ruth was a caring and generous, always willing to help others. She will be sadly missed by her family and all of those who knew her during her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Rogers; and sister, Shirley Walker.
Survivors: son, Lynn (Tammy) Rogers, Springfield, Missouri; daughter, Sandi (Larry) Halgren, Bellingham, Washington; grandsons, Cade (Kinsey) Rogers and Weston (Becca) Rogers, both of Springfield; great-grandchildren, Linden, Wren, Mille, and Cooper; and siblings, Kenneth Jones, Brookfield, Missouri, and Doris Bryant, Manson, Washington.
Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, at Poland- Thompson Chapel. Visitation prior to the service, 1 to 2 p.m. Burial in Graceland Memorial Cemetery, Cameron, Missouri.
