McBee’s Coffee N Carwash eyes fall opening in St. Joseph

St. Joseph residents will have a place to wash their cars — and their dogs — all while enjoying a cup of coffee in just about two months.
Steven McBee, CEO of McBee’s Coffee N Carwash, said the concept for the family-owned business was brought up in 2020. The family opened their first location in 2022.
McBee is from Independence, Missouri, and said that they wanted to provide the best service close to home.
“There’s something special about having a retail business where we get to serve customers that are local to the area,” McBee said. “And so, being able to deliver, you know, a clean car, a delicious coffee and even dog washes, it’s sort of our favorite things. And so being able to do that in a business format is something really really special.”
McBee explained what makes McBee’s Coffee N Carwash different from other carwashes.
“So with our carwash, the way we built it out is we can take a low-profile sports car all the way up to a dually truck,” McBee said. “So we can take virtually any private vehicle on the road today. And with the combination of coffee included in your carwash subscription along with our dog wash, there’s so much value that you get with one carwash subscription that you don’t really get with any other car washes.”
McBee shared that the construction process in St. Joseph has taken longer than expected due to unforeseen problems on the lot, resulting in having to do more concrete work than originally thought. But that hasn’t taken away from McBee’s excitement.
“We’re really really excited about this lot and we’re really excited about St. Joe, you know, as the city itself,” McBee said. “We think it’s a great city, a great location to go into. Population’s great and it’s considered one of our local areas … I’m just excited about the potential of this location.”
There will be several specials once the location is open.
“Whenever we get up and open, we’re gonna have some really cool specials for the first three months just to really get people used to coming into the wash,” McBee said.
There are three different pricing tiers for subscriptions to McBee’s Coffee N Carwash, ranging from $21.99 to $39.99 monthly. The subscription includes unlimited carwashes, coffee and dog washes.
There are currently eight McBee’s locations in the Kansas City metropolitan area, and St. Joseph’s location at 3016 N. Belt Highway will be the ninth.
