NIANGUA, Mo. – Raymond Edward Cline, 78, of Niangua, Missouri, formally of Helena, Missouri, and St. Joseph, returned home to his heavenly father on July 1, 2024, surrounded by his family.

Raymond was born at home Oct. 18, 1945, to Morris and Birdie (DeWeese) Cline, in DeKalb, Missouri. They preceded him in death.

Raymond found love with Charlotte Frost and they married Feb. 14, 1993, in Weston, Missouri. She survives him of the home.

Raymond is also survived by daughters, Brenda (Bruce Dunn) Tritten, Helena, Missouri, Amy (Mike Shelton) Cline-Shelton, St. Joseph, Sara Berry, Galt, Missouri; and bonus children, Tina Johnson, Republic, Missouri, and Jeff (Kerri) Ury, Urbandale, Iowa; grandchildren, Andrew Tritten, Garet Cline, Dakota (Katie) Shelton, Gentry Cline, Colt Berry, Megan (Connor) Kimsey, Nicholas Johnson, Kaitlyn Ury and Jocelyn Ury; as well as eight great-grandchildren.

Additional survivors include siblings, Eugene (Helen) Cline, St. Joseph, Herbert (Liz) Cline, Savannah, Missouri, Betty Gill, Stewartsville, Missouri, Martha White, Grandview, Missouri, Susan (Jim) Parker, Kirksville, Missouri; sister-in-law, Barbara (Carl) Landes, St. Joseph; brother-in-law, Wendel (Ella) Frost, Cleveland, Tennessee; former wife, Mary Margaret Weddle, St. Joseph, mother of Amy and Sara; and a large extended family..

Raymond was proceeded in death by stepdaughter, Wendy (DeShon) Kirschbaum; granddaughter; Samantha Vaughn; siblings, Amos John “AJ” Cline, Marceas Reents and Nina Bouge, all of St Joseph; in-laws, Marvin and Marjorie Frost, Gallatin, Missouri; former wife, Marilyn McCallon, Helena, mother of Brenda; and his trusted canine companion, Lacy.

He also leaves behind the most loyal group of friends who became family at Hannah’s General Store, Niangua. If he wasn’t at home, you could find him having coffee and telling stories at Hannah’s.

Raymond had a huge personality, and will be dearly missed. We will celebrate his life and honor him with continued storytelling.

The family will receive friends and loved ones Wednesday, July 10, 2024, 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services: Thursday, July 11, 2024, 2 p.m. Heaton Bowman Smith & Chapel, St. Joseph. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
