Police do not yet have anyone in custody following a shooting that left a man with life-threatening injuries early Sunday.

The St. Joseph Police Department responded to a call of shots fired around 12:30 a.m. on July 14 to 2101 St. Joseph Ave.

Capt. Jeff Wilson told News-Press NOW that a 31-year-old man suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound, but no one has been taken into custody as of Monday.

Wilson said the situation was potentially started due to an altercation in a nearby business that led to the shooting outside.

Contact the St. Joseph Police Department with any information or tips at (816) 271-4777.
