Improvements to U.S. Route 169 in Andrew and DeKalb counties will slow drivers starting next week.

The project will begin on Tuesday, July 30. Route 169 will be resurfaced starting at the intersection of Missouri Route 31 in DeKalb County and ending at the intersection of Interstate 29 in Buchanan County.

During construction, the road will be narrowed to one lane with a pilot car guiding motorists through the work zone during the day Monday through Saturday. Drivers should expect delays.

Resurfacing projects on Route 45 and Route 59 in Buchanan County are set for September. Routes in Andrew and Gentry counties already have been completed.

Herzog Contracting Corp. is working with the Missouri Department of Transportation on the resurfacing project.
