A Kansas City, Missouri, man suffered serious injuries in a one-vehicle Clinton County crash Monday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred around 1:50 p.m. Monday, as 85-year-old Dannie R. Cornwell drove his 1999 Lincoln Continental south on I-35.

Troopers report that Cornwell’s Lincoln began braking for an “unknown reason,” slid off the road, struck a guardrail and traveled down an embankment before resting near mile marker 50.4.

Cornwell suffered serious injuries, and was taken by Cameron Ambulance to Liberty Hospital.
