Big Lots has announced it will be closing between 35 to 40 of its locations this year, including St. Joseph’s.

The St. Joseph Big Lots, located at 1417 N Belt Highway, will be closed by September or when they run out of products.

The company claims the closings are due to inflation and an inability to compete under economic pressures according to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing last month.

The Big Lots located on Washington Street in Kansas City and on Christ Boulevard in St. Louis are expected to close as well.
