ALBANY, Mo. – Phyllis (Betty) Nance, of Albany, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024, at NorthCare Hospice House, in North Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of 92. Betty was born April 28, 1932, in Stanberry, Missouri, the only child of George T. Pierce and Dorris E. (Terry) Pierce.
On Nov. 29, 1952, she married William “Bill” Nance (deceased). To this union was born three children, William Alan Nance (deceased), Pamela Lee Wiederholt (deceased), and Thomas A. Nance, of Cameron, Missouri; five grandchildren, Stacey Wiederholt, Joshua (Rebecca) Wiederholt, Bryan (Sarah) Wiederholt, Jason Nance and Justin (Caitlin) Nance; nine great grandchildren, Colby Wiederholt, Riley Wiederholt, Brody Wiederholt, Sofia Wiederholt, Jane Wiederholt, Julia Wiederholt, Emery Nance, Jadyn Hurst, Weston Nance.
Betty spent time volunteering in her community and serving on the boards of the Albany Carnegie Public Library, and Carmack Cemetery. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, in Albany, and a member of the First Christian Church. She will be remembered for her sweet personality that everyone instantly admired, and her love and affection she showed her family and friends.
Memorial Service: 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 26, at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany. Inurnment will follow in the Carmack Cemetery, Albany. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the chapel.
