SJPD confirms information on a shooting that happened near First Ward House

At approximately 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, July 14th, the St. Joseph Police Department was dispatched to 2101 St. Joseph Avenue for a shots fired call.

Captain Jeff Wilson with the police department says a 31 year old Black male victim suffered a life threatening gun shot wound.

Wilson says there is one shooter, but no one is in custody at this time.

Wilson also says the situation possibly started from an altercation that in the bar and led to a shooting outside.

Any person with information is encouraged to contact the St. Joseph Police Department.
