Leslie Frank Waller, 65, of St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2024, at a Savannah, Missouri health care center. He was born Aug. 22, 195,8 in Fort Huachuca, Arizona, son of Ethel “LaVaughn” and Frank Waller.
He graduated from Lafayette High School, class of 1976. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1975-1990. Les married Gloria Griffin on July 5, 2005. He worked as a guard at the U.S. Penitentary in Leavenworth, Kansas. He enjoyed spending time watching old war movies and documentaries. He was a member of the former Bible Baptist Temple.
Leslie was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include: wife, Gloria Waller of St. Joseph; children, Shavaugn Waller, of St Joseph, Kenneth (Paula) Fish, of Waggoner, Oklahoma, Dusty Fish (Brandon Smith), of Savannah, Casey (Alisha) Fish, of Reed Springs, Missouri, Brittany Fish (Raymond Foster), of St. Joseph, Paige (Charles) Parks, of Savannah, Skylar Fish, of Sabetha, Kansas, and Amanda (Frank) Luzsicza of Fort Worth, Texas; brother, Robert (Dixie) Waller, of St. Joseph; sisters, Peggy (Bruce) Hawkins, of Maryville, Tennessee, and Michelle (Michael) Owens of Wyoming, Illinois; 28 grandchildren, Libby, Lana, Ethan, Kinsley, Keagon, Natylei, Ledger, David (Jasmine), Kaden, Natalie, Noah, Isiah (Hannah), Avory, Elijah, Israelle, Isaac, Liam, Blade, Halen, Tesla, Titan, Legend, Atlas, Arianna, Xander, Remedy, Camron, Lamech; and three great-granddaughters, Everleigh, Ember and Emery.
Funeral Service with Military Honors will be 6 pm, Thursday, June 27, 2024, at the Rupp Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., on Thursday. Chaplain John Rink officiating.
Mr. Waller will be cremated following services.
Memorials are requested to the American Heart Association.
