A $3,500 grant was given to St. Joseph Museums to help fund their free programming initiative with the St. Joseph School District at the early childhood learning centers.

Walmart North Belt contributed $1,000 and Walmart South Belt contributed $2,500.

For the past year, St. Joseph Museums has been providing hands-on, in-person programs to the learning centers twice a month.

The programs are planned and written based on the topics the students are learning and each program aligns with artifacts from the museum.

St. Joseph Museums said the entirety of these funds will go toward covering the cost of materials for hands-on learning components, development of the programs and the staff time associated with the program.
