William “Bill” H. Martin Jr., 78, of St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024, at University of Kansas Medical Center, in Kansas City, Kansas. He was born Nov. 18, 1945, in St. Joseph, son of Katherine and William Martin. He graduated from Central High School, class of 1964. On Sept. 10, 1976, he married Nancy Drake, in St. Joseph. He retired from Burlington Northern Railroad and later worked for Johnson Controls and Spirit Miller.

Bill loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and dogs. In 2007 he became an ordained Minister. He was a member of the Pentecostal’s of St. Joseph Church where he enjoyed working with the Celebrate Recovery program.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Martin; brother, Walter Martin; sisters, Joyce Knadler, Elizabeth Best and Rosanne Gilbert.

Survivors include wife, Nancy Martin, of the home; children, Christi (Mike) Collins, of Kansas City, Missouri, William (Jessica) Martin, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jamie Martin, of St. Joseph, Joseph (Cassidy) Martin, of Oregon, Missouri, and Joshua (Christina) Martin, of Elwood, Kansas; 18 grandchildren, Lura, DJ, Carl, Tritt, Dakota, Christopher, Kody, Michael, Destiny, Hayleigh, Tyler, Emilea, Maddisyn, Kaydense, Aiden, Gabby, Emily, and Kailey; numerous great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Rupp Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. The Interment will be at Bellemont Cemetery in Wathena, Kansas.

Memorials are requested to the Pentecostal’s of St. Joseph.
