Oelwein search warrant
A search warrant was executed by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at approximately 12:40 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, at 200 2nd St. SE, Oelwein. During a search illegal substances and items were found and seized.
Kolten Michael Maakestad, 24, of Oelwein was arrested and charged with second offense possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), a serious misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
In addition, Caleb James Gildard, 32, of Oelwein was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), a serious misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
Both Gildard and Maakestad were taken into custody and transported to the Fayette County Jail, where they awaited initial appearances.
Driving while
suspended
A Fayette County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop at approximately 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, on a vehicle in the 200 block of 3rd Avenue NW, Oelwein.
After an investigation, Alexandria Cristine Tyrrell, 30, of Oelwein was arrested and charged with driving while license suspended, a simple misdemeanor.
Tyrrell was taken into custody and transported to the Fayette County Jail, where she awaited an initial appearance.
Multiple charges after traffic stop
A traffic stop in the 100 block of 2nd St. SE, Oelwein, over the weekend has led to numerous charges.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy initiated the traffic stop at approximately 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11. During the investigation one of the passengers, Michael Wiliam Bushaw, 34, of Oelwein resisted law enforcement and was detained. Bushaw was found to have illegal substances on his person.
A further investigation showed the driver of the vehicle, Chelsea Leann Hersh, 31, of Waterloo and Bushaw had a valid no-contact order.
Bushaw was arrested and charged with third offense possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), a class D felony; possession of a controlled substance (cannabidiol) a serious misdemeanor; violation of a no-contact order, interference with official acts and possession of drug paraphernalia, all simple misdemeanors.
Hersh was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), a serious misdemeanor, and violation of a no-contact order, a simple misdemeanor.
Hersh and Bushaw were taken into custody and transported to the Fayette County Jail, where they awaited an initial appearance.
