Sunday, Jan. 5
At 8:35 a.m. Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Jonathan Harold Vanroekel, 55, of Pine Bluff, AR. for driving while license suspended (simple misdemeanor) and cited for operation without registration plate and failure to provide proof of insurance. This arrest was made following a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Third Avenue SE in Independence.
Monday, Jan. 6
At 12:25 a.m. deputies arrested Dionicio Jacinto Chavez Raymundo, 25, of Cedar Rapids, for driving while license suspended (simple misdemeanor) and cited for open container, speed violation and failure to provide proof of insurance. Chavez Raymundo was also arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Henry County for failure to appear. This arrest was made following a traffic stop near the 54 mile marker of I380.
At approximately 4:30 p.m. deputies arrested Karma Corrine Butters, 23, of Oelwein, on active arrest warrants out of Buchanan County for original charges of child endangerment, second offense possession of controlled substance, keeping vehicle or premise for controlled substance usage (all aggravated misdemeanors), prescription drug violation, second offense possession of controlled substance – marijuana (both serious misdemeanors) and possession of drug paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor). These charges stem from a drug related investigation in the 300 block of West Hayes Street in Hazleton on Sept. 16, 2024.
At approximately 6:30 p.m. deputies arrested Emma Rose Butters 19, of Oelwein, on active arrest warrants out of Buchanan County for original charges of child endangerment, keeping vehicle or premise for controlled substance usage (both aggravated misdemeanors), second offense possession of controlled substance – marijuana (serious misdemeanor) and possession of drug paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor). These charges stem from a drug related investigation in the 300 block of West Hayes Street in Hazleton on Sept. 16, 2024.
At approximately 8:30 p.m. deputies arrested Connor Lee Rawlins, 19, of Independence, on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for probation violation. This arrest was made in the 1500 block of Lawrence Avenue.
At approximately 10 p.m. deputies arrested Mateo Tomas Croux, 25, of Oelwein, on active arrest warrants out of Buchanan County for original charges of child endangerment, second offense possession of controlled substance, keeping vehicle or premise for controlled substance usage (all aggravated misdemeanors), prescription drug violation, second offense possession of controlled substance – marijuana (both serious misdemeanors) and possession of drug paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor). These charges stem from a drug related investigation in the 300 block of West Hayes Street in Hazleton on Sept. 16, 2024.
At approximately 10:30 p.m. deputies arrested Jerald William Birchard, 64, of Fairbank, for first offense operating while intoxicated (serious misdemeanor) and public intoxication (simple misdemeanor). This arrest was made following an incident in the 100 block of Fourth Street South in Fairbank.
Tuesday, Jan. 7
At 6:40 a.m. deputies arrested Alyssa Mae Dague, 24, of Oelwein, on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for failure to appear and held them at the Buchanan County Jail.
Wednesday, Jan. 8
At approximately 7:30 a.m. deputies arrested Kyle James Koopman, 33, of Jesup, and charged them with sex offender registry violation (aggravated misdemeanor) and held at the Buchanan County Jail.
Friday, Jan. 10
At 10:55 a.m. deputies arrested Leigh Ann Moyer, 59, of Janesville, on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for failure to appear and held them at the Buchanan County Jail.
