Man still looking to reunite old baby photos to his father’s patients

The son of a former doctor in St. Joseph is continuing his quest to find the owners of baby photos, some from more than 70 years ago.
The late Dr. Robert Kieber, a family physician in St. Joseph, received a scrapbook years ago of photos of patients. The photos date from the 1940s to the 1960s.
News-Press NOW initially did a story on the photo book in July 2023 and many people reached out to reunite with the pictures. Now, Kieber’s son, Robert Kieber, is searching for the second time to find who the pictures belong to to avoid them disintegrating in storage.
“I had 40, 50, 55 inquiries, of which I was able to send back to about two dozen families,” Kieber said.
Kieber was proud to have these photos, as a handful of people have praised his father for his work over the years as a physician.
“It’s quite interesting, I had a lot of good comments and compliments about my late father and his medical staff at the office. It’s actually all been kind of fun because I went to either grade school or high school with some of these kids,” Kieber said.
If you think a relative of yours was delivered by Dr. Kieber or you spot them in a photo, reach out to News-Press NOW at newspressnow.com/share for details on how to get in contact with Kieber for the original photo.
